Wetbacks heat water via a heat transfer system (usually built into a suitable fireplace) that maintains a physical separation between the primary heat transfer fluid and the water in the cylinder. The Potable water is heated by being in contact with the coil, which acts as a heat exchanger, containing heated water from a wetback. A similar process is used in solar water heating or heat pump water heating. Euro Plumbing know everything there is to know about wetbacks, whether its fault finding or installing a new wetback you have found the right company to look after your requirements. If installed correctly Wetbacks can be very efficient and save you loads of money in exactly that time of the year your using power the most. Before deciding what wetback system you want to purchase/install, please consider the following aspects of design: wetback_with_solar
  • The greater the vertical height of a circulation system, the greater will be the circulating pressure
  • The greater the difference in temperature between the (hotter) rising flow and the (cooler) falling return, the greater the circulating pressure.
  • The simpler and shorter the circulation system, the smaller the loss of circulating pressure due to friction.
  • Water becomes heavier as it cools, and water which is continually getting cooler should be flowing downhill.

It’s very easy to get a wetback installation wrong resulting in a dangerous or very inefficient system. Make sure you use qualified and experienced installers.
