The water pressure at which a storage water heater operates may be:

Low Pressure – open vented systems where the pressure is provided by a cold water storage header or open vent (usually a copper pipe sticking through your roof. (3-12 meters head – 30 to 120 kpa, typically 3 – 7 meter head) Low pressure systems can be balanced and unbalanced.
Low Pressure Vented – systems which rely on a pressure reducing valve to reduce the pressure below the mains pressure (3-12 meter head – 30 – 120Kpa, typically 3 – 7 meter head). Low pressure systems can be balanced and unbalanced.
Mains Pressure – with a working pressure equal to the incoming supply (ranging from 120KPA to 1400 KPA, typically 350 – 700 KPA)
Medium Pressure – systems also available and range from 75 – 120 Kpa.

A water pressure specialist will come to site, investigate and provide the best solution forward. We will test your existing low pressure system and establish whether and by how much pressure increase is possible. Part of the inspection relates to pipework, existing valves, open vents and/or header tanks. On completion the technician will advise which of the following applications/solutions may apply.
