Whether commercial or residential if your gas appliance suddenly stops working the cause could be very simple to repair. Caution needs to be taken when selecting a gas fitting company to do the repair as in many cases YOU the consumer could end up being a guinea pig on what very often tends to be a straight forward repair, costing much more in unnecessary time and materials.

Suitable for commercial and residential appliances this booking will get a specialised, experienced and licenced gasfitter to site which will investigate and if possible remediate the fault straight away. Please note that in New Zealand there are hundreds of different gas appliance brands and it is impossible for our technicians to carry specialised parts for each brand. In most cases spare parts can be sourced immediately allowing the technician to commence repair. In cases where parts are sourced from overseas a second site visit will be required. Every additional hour will be charged at $ 125 + GST.

  • Visually inspect gas appliance, flues and ventilation
  • Working pressure at meter and standing pressure
  • strip clean or check;  Burners, Injectors, Pilot assembly, Lint arresters, Flue ways, Heat exchanger, Fan, Gas taps/valves thermostats, ignition device
  • Follow commission procedure; controls, solenoids, fan pressure switch, regulator, thermistor, thermostat, by-passes
  • General components; lights, timers, flicker devices, air / room thermostats and controls
  • Combustion performance analysis; CO / CO2 ratio (data-plate VS actual)
  • Gas Rating the appliance as per manufacturing specification
  • Final ventilation, spillage and tightness test

An appliances should be serviced, gas rated and maintained to make sure that the heat input is the correct amount for which the appliance is designed. Too little heat input will lower the efficiency and the heat output from the appliance. Too much heat input, besides causing the appliance to overheat, is also a common cause of high gas bills. A new gas appliance, once set at the correct working pressure, will usually operate at the correct gas rate. However, we must check that this is so. An appliance will be underrated if the injectors are too small and overrated if the injectors are too large. Every gas appliance has a data plate which provides us with operating information such as working pressure, injector size, heat input and heat output.
