Gas Califont for mum
February 9, 2016We had an interesting email from some self proclaimed smelly customers asking us to donate an instant gas califont to put outside their mums place in order that they have access to a shower when they are staying at mums place. They are currently using the garden hose to shower as mum only has a bath and complains about power if the rest of the family need to bathe. The shower was removed due to the bathroom walls rotting.
Well what an interesting dilemma. A califont is a gas water heater unit about the size of a briefcase. You simply attach it to a garden hose and a gas tank and you have instant water via gas heating, a portable shower. It can pretty much be put anywhere it is needed, but shouldn’t be put in an enclosed space as it does run off a gas cylinder. It is a simple and is very easy to use and can be set up in as little as ten minutes. You connect it to a mains water supply or a 12v pressure pump. It does not need electricity to run as it is powered by two D cell batteries, which makes it great for use in the horse shed. It can heat up to 360litres per hour.
It is a fantastic unit to have for use outside when you need hot water and not just the garden hose. The dog can be washed outside, when coming back from the beach covered in sand you know longer have to have sand tracked through the house, you can take it camping, really it’s applications are limitless.
As to whether we can donate a second hand one…I’m sorry but no we don’t do that. We also don’t sell the cheap ones as we like quality products so we can stand behind them. We can however fix up mums bathroom and easily install a shower unit inside too. We think the califont is a great idea and defiantly better than showering with the garden hose.
